Find a table that you would like to embed, and click the "Share/Publish" tab. At the bottom of the screen where it says "Embed this table in a web page," select the table size that you would like. Copy the code in the "Code" box and paste it into your website or blog.
You will need to paste the code as HTML. If you are using blog software or a content management system, look for a button that reads "HTML" or "Edit HTML."
Yes. You can configure the size and color scheme of an embedded Factual table. Embedded tables can also have some "sticky" presentation attributes such as sorts, filters, and hidden fields. More types of customization are in the works.
You can also manipulate and present Factual data however you like using our API.
You can click on the preview button to see precisely what it will look like before you embed it. The preview will reflect the dimensions, color theme, and content of the table as it will appear when embedded in another site.
Yes, you can embed as many tables on a page as you like.
Most of the tables on Factual is free to re-use, analyze, download, manipulate, build upon, and mash with other tables. In some cases, whoever posted the table (including, in some cases, Factual itself!) may apply some special terms and conditions to govern your use -- because they're obligated by contract to other parties, or just because they want you to abide by certain uses. Where you see those special terms, it is your responsibility to abide by them. If you have any doubts or questions about it, consult a Factual discussion table or a legal resource or just turn to data that's free to use -- which, by default, most of the data on Factual is.
Yes. All contributions made by users on any website via the Factual embeddable table will be visible on the one embedded on your site.
We do not offer platform-specific tools at this time.
Yes. Users will be able to click in a cell and see the fact history for that data. They will also be able to contribute new information by logging in using OpenID or using an existing Factual account.
Yes. However, once you have opened a table to public contributions, you may no longer restrict users from updating it.
Anyone can embed a public table that is on Factual.com -- almost all the data is available for syndication (unless otherwise specified by the owner of the data). If we take down a table for any reason, it will automatically be disabled on your site and on all sites it is embedded on.

You may reproduce, distribute, modify, and manipulate or build upon data publicly available on Factual, subject to the Factual Terms of Use .
No. Right now, all data crowdsourced through an embedded Factual Table will be available publicly for anyone to use.
Embedded Factual tables contain SEO friendly information about the subject matter of the table that is contained on your page that should help search engines realize what kind of data you have embedded on your site.
Your readers will be able to view Factual Tables without logging in. If they wish to contribute to a Factual Table, they will need to log in with either an OpenID account from Google or Yahoo or an existing Factual account.
No. Factual Tables are available to you at no cost, but with no guarantees. (However, if you plan to use embedded tables on a large scale and would like to discuss an SLA, please email us at developer@factual.com .)

Use the "Search" box in the upper right corner of Factual.com to search for tables that match your interest.
If you have an existing table, Factual can recommend additional data that you might find interesting. In the options menu for any column, select "Find Related Data" to have Factual suggest data that might make an interesting addition to your table. For example, if you were to search for "related data" on a field named "Zip Code", there's a good chance Factual can provide you with the City and State fields.

While it depends on how much data you are using from Factual, we are building intuitive tools that will make the process of moderating and curating data on the embedded tables easy and manageable.
