Factual Hires Chris Pattinson to Lead Expansion to JAPAC

Factual is expanding its global footprint, having announced our newest office opening in Singapore and $42 million in new funding earlier this month. The Asia Pacific (JAPAC) region is an incredibly important one – for us as a company, and for the industry worldwide. The size of the middle class is expected to reach nearly 3.5 billion people by 2030 – roughly 65% of the world’s total– and ad spending is seeing yearly double-digit growth, making it clear that JAPAC offers tremendous opportunity not only for Factual, but for the industry as a whole.

At Factual, we’ve already seen demand for our data and services in JAPAC growing at a rapid rate. In the last eight months we’ve tripled 2017 sales in the region, without a dedicated local presence. Customers in market already use Factual’s data to target and measure advertising, build consumer facing products and understand movement patterns across a diverse set of verticals.  For the types of innovation that location data will enable, we knew it would be imperative to bring on a seasoned expert to help us build our regional presence and drive company expansion.

To that end, we’re excited to welcome Chris Pattinson as Factual’s Managing Director of JAPAC. Chris, who is based in Singapore, has over two decades of experience in media, strategic partnerships and regional expansion in JAPAC for some of the world’s largest media companies, including Yahoo! and Viacom. Most recently, Chris built Oracle’s Grapeshot in JAPAC from one person to a multi-million dollar business with offices spanning multiple countries.

Chris has proven ability introducing emerging technologies to the JAPAC market, and we’re eager for him to tap into his extensive network to further the adoption of Factual’s location data within marketing campaigns, emerging products and more. He will cement Factual’s footprint in the region and deepen partnerships with companies like The Trade Desk, which has integrated Factual’s data to help brands increase the effectiveness of digital campaigns in regional countries.

“With over 80% of retail sales in Asia Pacific still occurring offline, the need for brands to connect their online strategies with real-world customer behavior is clear,” said Matt Harty, SVP of Asia Pacific at The Trade Desk. “Our partnership with Factual enables offline measurement by providing advertisers with high-quality location data to deliver relevant and effective digital campaigns.”

We look forward to the impact Chris will have, deepening Factual’s existing global partnerships while opening the doors to new, lasting relationships.

Welcome, Chris, to the Factual team!
