We are pleased to announce that Factual is collaborating with HealthTap on the first health-data specific Developer Challenge Hackathon, “Hacking 4 Health,” taking place this Saturday, September 11th in Palo Alto, CA.
The event is for developers with a passion for health data to come together, learn about the available data, and build innovative applications. Prizes will be awarded at the end of the evening for the most creative, innovative applications built during the hackathon. Developers will be accessing the health data using Factual’s API.
If you’re interested in attending or learning more about the event, go here.
Although initiatives like the Community Health Data Initiative and data.gov have made large amounts of health data publicly available, this data still requires the creativity of developers to make it useful to individuals and communities. Which is why this weekend’s hackathon is so important. It’s not just an event for coders to meet up and show off – it’s also an opportunity to build applications that will make a real impact in people’s lives, and the health decisions they make.
So if you’re a developer with a passion for health, come on down, play around with some interesting data and some fun tools, and help us take Health 2.0 to the next level.
